LABASAD presents the Masterclass “Learning How to Learn: My Life in Design,” featuring Astrid Stavro, Creative Director at Studio Astrid Stavro. In this session, Astrid will share her inspiring journey, from her early days in a printing workshop as a child to her established career as a Professional Designer. Through a carefully curated selection of projects, she will reflect on the evolution of her creative approach, the mistakes that became major learning experiences, and the fundamental role of curiosity in her work. We will also explore her sources of inspiration, the challenges she has faced, and the importance of deeply connecting with both content and audience.
Astrid is an award-winning and globally recognised Creative Director with over two decades of experience leading in the design field. Her work is distinguished by powerful ideas, exceptional execution, and a deep commitment to both content and audience. She was previously a partner at Pentagram and co-founder of the design agency Atlas. She has worked with a wide range of international clients across cultural and commercial sectors. Astrid is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) and currently serves as President of the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD). In addition, she teaches Editorial Design at the Royal College of Art.
