Laia Abril

Artist, Photographer and Educator

Laia Abril is a multidisciplinary artist who works with photography, text, video and sound. Her research-based projects focus on the uncomfortable and hidden realities in biopolitics. After graduating from university with a degree in journalism and studying photography in New York, she enrolled in a 5-year artist residency at FABRICA, the Benetton Research Centre in Treviso, Italy, where she worked as a creative editor and photographer at COLORS magazine.
Her work has been shown internationally and is held in private collections and museums, such as the Musée de l’Elysée and the Fotomuseum Winterthur, FRAC, MNAC and Foto Colectania.
